Most of the medicines come (ready-made) from the wholesaler but not everything!

In the Meerburg Apotheek about 6% of all the medicines are made in the pharmacy itself.

For instance syrups or suppositories for little children or for people with difficulties in swallowing. In the pharmacy we also make a lot of special creams and ointments.

For preparing those recipes the identity and the amount of the ingredients are automatically checked by electronic scales and computers.

On this image you see one of our trainees. She is a pharmacist's assistant on work placement. During the study (daytime study 2-3 years) they are trained some days per week in a training pharmacy to get practical experience. All their work is checked vigorously by one of our staff members.

Are you interested in the study of pharmacist or pharmacist's assistant you can contact us in the pharmacy or by E-mail

Al the components of a "magisterial preparation" are stored in shelves.

We use the bar-code checking for the identity control.

Each prescription or stock preparation has an evaluated protocol.

Frequently our preparations and protocols are validated by an external independent control laboratory.
