The Meerburg Apotheek considers providing you with
information concerning your medication essential for your motivation and
treatment. The most essential information such as dosage and special
usage is printed on the labels on the boxes. Of course each packet
contains the legal (Dutch) information leaflet, but we are glad to
translate the most essential parts if Dutch is not understood.
If you get a medicine for the first time you get more
information e.g. about the effects of your new prescription.
Nowadays patients are more and more involved with their
illnesses. They like to monitor their diseases or the effect of their
medicines. Examples are the glucose measurement
by diabetic- or blood pressure
in hypertensive patients. We can provide you with the necessary
items and will give you instruction in using them.
Clients with acute or chronic respiratory diseases often use inhalation drugs.
You can train the usage of those medicines at our Pharmacy. Of course
you get extensive instruction when you start using those apparatuses
but we recommend you let us check regularly that your inhalation technique
is efficient.
Our pharmacy gets increasingly involved in
professional homecare. Examples are parenteral systems for food or
medication, morphine pump systems , incontinence and stoma articles. We
cooperate with local homecare organizations.
Some of our clients have difficulties with their drug
schedule, especially those who use several different medicines, get troubled with
identity and dosage. We can help; for instance by supplying a handy
summary with times and dosage but we also can help by supplying your
medicine in week-boxes which will help you take your daily doses at the
right time.
If you have problems with swallowing you can ask us
for advice.
If your religion has a period of fasting (Lent or
Ramadan) we can advice you of the optimum intake times of your
medication.
