Meerburg Apotheek is the first (and at date the only) pharmacy in Rotterdam with an approved quality system ISO-NEN-9002 and HKZ.

This certificate, obtained in February 2000, represents a international standard for quality and guarantees you, as our client, a high level of constant care. Our pharmacy has adopted the latest standards in quality and pharmaceutical care. The pharmacy is regularly audited by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance. This encourages trust, as well for you as for us.

Service

Most of the GP's and hospitals in the region are equipped with a fax. All your prescriptions are commonly sent by them to the pharmacy (fax: 010-4333609) This will be very convenient for you, especially for your regular medication and in cases where a doctors visit is not indicated. When you order your prescription in the morning at your GP, asking them to fax to Meerburg Apotheek, in most cases your medicines will be ready for you to collect them after 16.00 hour. Of course urgent drugs will be ready within minutes. If you want to use our free courier delivery service just mention it to your GP or contact us (by phone 010-4136727) to make the arrangements. By the way, we deliver in specific areas including offices and hotels when asked such.

Sending from the Netherlands your letter is free of postage.

  • when you come to collect your medicines you need to show the original prescription

  • when your medicines are delivered to you by our express service you give your prescription to them.

• Our express service can collect your prescription first and you get your medicines soon after.

  • we recommend you telephone us (010-4136727) to make the essential arrangements

Safety

Meerburg Apotheek takes care of high quality medication surveillance. If we know the medicines you use (we keep them at least 10 years in our computer system) and your medical history we automatically check each prescribed medicine for side effects and interactions with your other medicines and personal circumstances.

We always check that the dosage of your medicines is not excessive.

It is important for you that we check for any allergies to or contraindications in the prescribed medicines. We like to be informed if you have certain disorders so we can take that into consideration.
With our knowledge and by using our databases we can help to prevent extra complications.

If you wish we can provide you with a survey of your medication, a so-called medication passport.

That is a convenient document to carry in case of a hospitalization, a visit to a doctor or during travel. Ask for it. (For privacy reasons those documents are only handed to yourself or posted by ordinary mail to your home address after your given permission)
